Willow Pill
When the winner of RuPaul's Drag Race Season 14 and overall queer sensation Willow Pill needed to develop branding and merchandise in the wake of her success, she hired me to create digital illustrations that have since been worn by self-proclaimed weirdos and outcasts around the world.
First came her logo design, which she communicated she wanted to look, "organic, trippy and glamorous." Taking inspiration from her drag persona, I designed this fluid mark that fits neatly in a pill shaped outline.
Next we needed to capitalize on her iconic entrance look, so I designed three super different illustrations in order to create merchandise such as t-shirts, posters, stickers and keychains. Some of the design influences here were Bratz dolls, the 90’s in general, and the infamous white flip-flops needed to particularly shine. After the show finished airing, I also created the single art for Angle feat. Kornbread Jeté.
Based on the "Spring has Sprung" runway category, a particular highlight was the creation of the Willow Pillow, along with other examples of illustrations based on her wild and amazing looks.
