Logos & Branding

Great brands start with great branding. Shown below are several examples of logos I have created throughout my career as well as examples of how the subsequent branding starts to take shape.

Tracy-Locke

At the end of 2021, Tracy-Locke went through a creative rebrand, and I had to pleasure of creating the new brand system. Inspired by a vintage logo previously used decades earlier, I brought the branding into a space with more personality and artistic energy. I created an official seal, as well as wordmarks, lettermarks and a custom typographic signature used to sign-off creative presentations.

Willow Pill

This logo invokes a playful attitude with a dark twist. Willow Pill is known for her psychedelic and bizarre performances, and her branding needed to reflect that. Thus, the pill logo was born. Custom typography was created for the mark that organically encapsulates her attitude.

Margarita Mile

In 1971, Dallas native Mariano Martinez invented the frozen margarita machine, leading to the founding of this self-guided margarita tour showcasing the most unique cocktails in the city. This simple branding needed to be connected to the larger VisitDallas umbrella, while having an identity of its own. The bright colors allowed for illustration and typography experimentation down the line on subsequent merchandise and materials.

Wilder Skye

Wilder Skye is an ongoing webcomic project that I created in 2018. Centering on a newly dead demon who finds his personal hell to be working an office job for eternity, this comic is built on dark humor. As you might imagine, the brand tone is very unserious. The simple graphic nature of the designs with flaming red accents make the iconography recognizable from a quick glance.

Minumi

The design system of Minumi endeavors to be whimsical and bright. The essence of the brand is centered on creativity, fun, inclusivity and joy. As a result, the friendly colors along with thick rounded edges in logos and icons that flow together create beauty in its simplicity.

40th Annual Black Tie Dinner

The brand tone of the Black Tie Dinner is very glamorous and classy. For the 40th anniversary of the event, I created this mark to communicate the importance, and celebrate this milestone. Throughout the year I also used the brand foundation I created to design signage, social campaigns, and many other related pieces of collateral that would be necessary in the event industry.

Red Fox Motel

A boutique motel concept in a small town in west Texas, Red Fox Motel. The custom typography I created matched with the natural style of the sub-marks has a vintage hand-crafted feel. I created the fox illustration by carving a woodblock and printing it through traditional methods, and explored wordmarks and lettermarks to create a full brand system.

Fancy Bee Honey

This brand was designed for the most important client I have ever worked with: my mom. A budding bee-keeper, she had a very particular request for a logo with a bee wearing a pink cowboy hat and cowboy boots. Say no more, mother. Ask and you shall receive.
